Roseola infantum is a common viral illness, which affects children ages 6 to 24 months. The signs and symptoms include fever and a characteristic rash. The causative agent is human herpes virus 6 (7). The delayed manifestation of the rash makes early clinical diagnosis of this disease almost impossible.
