Lichen Planus is a skin disease of unknown cause. Typically the skin, mucous membranes and nails are affected. Lichen planus usually manifests as pruritic rash (plaques, papules, blisters). It is chronic and as of today no effective treatment has been found. The likely explanation of variety of clinical presentations of Lichen Planus is immune responce to unknown pathological trigger.
