Tinea pedis is one of the most common reasons for medical visits. The diagnosis of this disease is usually straightforward. The disease manifests itself by itching and inflammation of the interdigital folds. A typical inflammatory itchy plaques with flaking are often present on the feet. Inflammatory manifectations are more pronounced on the periphery of these plaques. Because of high prevalence of this disease overdiagnosis is frequent. Many inflammatory and itchy dermatoses with feet involvement are mistakenly diagnosed as mycoses.
